My Services: Logo Design, Business Card Design, Letterhead and Envelope Design, Brochure Design, Copywriting, Commercial Printing Management
Challenge: Key Energy Services (Omaha, Nebraska), is the business of natural gas and energy risk management consultant Jim Borowicz. After designing Key Energys unique logo design and corporate identity system, it was time to create a corporate brochure that made Jim look like a Fortune 500 company.
Solution: We could have used photos of gas refineries, large factories, blue flames, jaggedly unpredictable stock graphs - all to illustrate (with maximum energy industry cliché) the importance of smartly buying natural gas. Yet a word kept bobbing up in my head that Jim used to explain the difficulty of buying natural gas: volatility. Thus a concept was born: Jim is an experienced navigator of the treacherous sea of natural gas purchasing. Now, there arent any giant krakens, cranky whales, or plunderous pirates in this theoretical sea. But natural gas trading is definitely not for Novice Nemos (just like graphic design...)
Results: I convinced my client that the impact of immersive imagery we could put on a 4-page 8.5" x 11" brochure was worth the extra $50 in paper cost vs. a piddly tri-fold brochure. Click on the image to see a larger view.
